White Sands Missile Range (WSMR) has planned road closures on U.S. 70 and U.S. 380 for Friday, September 26, 2025.
U.S. 70 will be blocked twice beginning at 6:30 a.m., then lifted and reset at 8 a.m. Each closure will last approximately one hour. These blocks will be located at Red Block (top of San Augustin Pass, mile marker 164) and Yellow Block (White Sands National Park, mile marker 200). Las Cruces Gate, Nike Avenue and Owen Road will also be impacted.
U.S. 380 will be blocked twice beginning at 6:20 a.m., then lifted and reset at 7:50 a.m. Each closure will last approximately two hours. This block will affect U.S. 380 in the northern portion of the range at Gold Block (mile marker 3) and Silver Block (mile marker 49).
