Funeral Services for Fallen Deputy this Thursday

Funeral services and the procession route for fallen Doña Ana County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Antonio Aleman are scheduled for Thursday, July 17.

The funeral mass will begin at 10:45 a.m. at the St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, located at 5750 Doniphan Drive, in El Paso.

The police led procession from Funeraria Del Angel Hillcrest West funeral home, located at 5054 Doniphan Drive, in El Paso, will begin at 10:30 a.m. News media looking to capture the procession may stage on the sidewalk parallel with McClintock Drive in front of the funeral.

The procession will arrive at the St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church at 10:45 a.m. NO media, video or livestreaming will be permitted inside the funeral home or church.

Mourners who wish to attend the funeral mass are welcome but should be aware that the family of Aleman, law enforcement personnel and other dignitaries will be seated first.

Following the church service, Aleman will be escorted by DASO and other law enforcement to his final resting place at Memorial Pines Cemetary, located at 3061 Memorial Pines Lane, in Sunland Park.

The procession route from the funeral home to the church are as follows:

Funeraria Del Angel Hillcrest is located at 5054 Doniphan Drive to McClintock Drive. North on Doniphan, East on Coats, South on Ethel to the entrance to the church.

Procession from St. Francis of Assisi are as follows:

5750 Doniphan Drive south to Artcraft west to Mc. Nutt, south on Mc Nutt, west on Memorial pines Road to the cemetery located 3061 Memorial Pines Road, Sunland Park NM 88063.

Staging for news media at the cemetery will be sent out at a later date as it is to be determined.

On Thursday, during the ceremonies, news media can direct questions to Doña Ana County Public Safety Communications Specialist, Ariana Parra. Deputy Aleman’s family and DASO personnel will not be available for interviews on Thursday.

DASO kindly requests that all attendees display respect for the family, friends and colleagues of Aleman.
